The MariaDB project is hosted on Launchpad. A good way to get started is to join one of the Launchpad teams:
- The maria-discuss team and mailing list is for MariaDB users and general discussion. The archive can be found here.
- The maria-docs team and mailing list is for those interested in documentation for MariaDB. The archive can be found here.
- The maria-developers team and mailing list is for those who want to contribute code to the project or otherwise closely monitor MariaDB development. The archive can be found here.
- The maria-captains team is for trusted developers who merge code into official trees.
Membership in these groups allows subscription to the associated mailing lists. Membership in maria-captains also allows commits into the official MariaDB source code trees.
The commit emails are sent to commits@mariadb.org. Anyone can subscribe to commit emails or examine the commit archive.
The core developers behind MariaDB are the Maria-captains. They can be found on Launchpad. Anyone with enough technical skill level who wants to actively participate in MariaDB development can be part of this team.
If you want to just want to keep up with the latest news, like new MariaDB releases, you should subscribe to the announce@mariadb.org announcement list (this is a low traffic, announce-only list). You can also examine the announce archive.
You can also chat with other MariaDB users and developers live on IRC.
You can also find a lot of MariaDB people at most open source conferences, like O'Reilly MySQL conference, OSCON, and Open Source bridge. See also the list of conferences attended by MariaDB developers from Monty Program Ab.
If you have a feature request, you can file it in Worklog. If you are prepared to pay for the feature you can contact Monty Program Ab to get a quote.
The MariaDB knowledge base is both a manual, FAQ, and a place where you can ask and answer questions about specific MariaDB / MySQL features.
The Maria project's official IRC channel is irc:irc.freenode.net/maria on Freenode. The channel irc:irc.freenode.net/maria-meeting is used for official meetings. In the interest of users, we hope not to have a separate channel for developers. Users are asked to keep their best interests in mind when interacting with busy developers in our big tent.
